Role Overview
We are seeking a Reinsurance Broker to join our growing Latin American team in Bogotá. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with strong technical and relationship-building skills who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
The successful candidate will originate, place, and manage reinsurance treaties and facultative transactions—including traditional, parametric, and alternative structures while working closely with LIRG’s teams in Miami and partner’s in London, and Bermuda.
Key Responsibilities
• Originate and manage reinsurance placements (treaty and facultative) across property, casualty, specialty, and parametric lines.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with cedents, reinsurers, and MGUs across Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Work with LIRG structurers and analysts to prepare market submissions, slips, and financial models.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with reinsurers to optimize pricing and coverage.
• Collaborate with internal teams on new product and program design, particularly within LIRG’s parametric and alternative risk initiatives.
• Track and report on market trends, rating movements, and reinsurance capacity developments.
• Support client presentations, marketing materials, and reinsurance proposals.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in reinsurance broking, underwriting, or placement, preferably within property, specialty, or parametric markets.
• Strong understanding of treaty and facultative reinsurance structures and documentation.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, and reinsurance administration tools.
• Driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple placements simultaneously.
